Kalahari Resorts and Conventions

The Kalahari Resort & Conventions are full-service holiday locations that include meeting and convention facilities. These destinations mix the wonder of Africa with one of the largest indoor waterparks in the United States. All of Kalahari Resorts & Conventions’ cutting-edge Waterparks, Family Entertainment Centers, Luxury Spas, Adventurous Restaurants, and Convention Centers are conveniently located under one roof in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, Sandusky, Ohio, Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, and Round Rock, Texas respectively. These destinations are known for exceeding guests’ expectations. We take great satisfaction in the fact that we have something suitable for people of all ages, from three years old to 83 years old and everything in between!

The Kalahari has a strong passion for introducing resort guests to the rich culture of Africa, and this can be seen throughout the resort, from the furniture in the guest rooms to the original artwork that adorns the walls of the convention center, from the music that was recorded on the streets of Cape Town to the handmade souvenirs that are available for purchase. By encouraging company ownership and working closely with a wide range of commercial and charitable organizations, Kalahari Resorts and Conventions is fulfilling its promise to give something back to the communities, landscapes, and ways of life that have been so influential to us.

As the owners and operators of Kalahari Resorts & Conventions, the Nelson family travels extensively throughout Africa to forge new and innovative collaborations. Every item made using African materials has its own unique tale of entrepreneurial spirit, which can be found weaved into every stitch, carved into every curve, and threaded onto every bead.

The young of Africa have access to chances for education, economic development, and cultural interchange thanks to Kalahari’s partnerships with international organizations. Recent college grads are welcomed at each of our resorts to participate in a work and cultural exchange program that lasts for an entire calendar year. During their time at the resorts, students benefit not only their own professional growth but also the growth of Africa’s tourism and hospitality industry by gaining hands-on hospitality education, skills, and job experience in a range of professions. These students share their cultures with Kalahari associates and guests, who do the same in return, and the cultural appreciation and exchange that results from this is an essential component of the program.
